Exploring Creativity Through Stitch
Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 (10 spaces available) ZOOM
Go on an adventure of experimentation and investigation to produce a number of textile outcomes inspired by the environment that surrounds us. You will be taught by Caroline Beddard a tutor and practising machine stitch textile artist. You will learn a wide variety of new and exciting techniques and processes with the emphasis on machine stitch and particularly free machine embroidery, fabric manipulation and embellishment. This course will be taught by a series of demonstrations and step by step tutoring from Caroline online for the summer term of 2021.
You will experience the use of materials such as dissolvable fabrics, bondaweb, threads, dyes, inks and embellishments and discover how these can be applied to and compliment a wide variety of fabrics. Materials can be provided, however as the story of used fabrics is particularly relevant today you will be invited to bring along any preloved textiles to class to add to your creative explorations. So you’ll need your sewing machine and plenty of eagerness to learn some exciting new ways to create art.
