Sophie Potter is a freelance illustrator, creating bold painterly illustrations for businesses, magazines, products and packaging. Her work is characterised by a bold colour palette and natural motifs. She is constantly developing her portfolio and it is always lovey to see her new work evolve through either the personal or commercial projects she undertakes. Sophie’s work is often characterised by flora and fauna, interesting objects and bold colour palettes.

WORKSHOP: Acryla Gouache is a very popular medium at the moment - bright colours with a matt opaque consistency, and  because you can layer it up, it's great for beginners as well as more experienced artists. 

The workshop will involve learning about the medium and how to prepare to draw a still life Sophie Potter style. You can imagine tins and enamel vases full of wild flowers and a table bursting with curiosities and interesting things to draw. You can also bring some of your own items that you have always fancied capturing artistically. The possibilities are endless!Throughout the workshop, Sophie will run through: the properties of the paint, experimenting with line and texture, building up from one object still life to one with more elements and details. You will finish the day with a painting reflecting all the skills and imaginative flair you have acquired from Sophie’s inspirational teaching style.
