Art Social – a creative workshop for every body and every mind
A new and unique course at our Community Art School, right here in Cardiff.
Art Social is not just another art class - it’s a creative sanctuary. Designed especially for those who find traditional group settings overwhelming, this course is a gentle, welcoming inclusive space where you can be yourself, at your own pace.
Who is this course for? You may be:
someone who feels anxious about joining new groups,
neurodiverse and looking for a space that embraces your rhythm,
navigating a time of grief or emotional difficulty,
or simply feeling the weight of the world and finding it hard to socialise…
Art Social is here for you!
We know that art has the power to connect people, without pressure, without small talk, without expectations. Creativity can gently draw us out, spark conversation, ease anxiety, and build real, human connection. This is an art class that puts wellbeing before performance, and people before projects.
Led by the deeply empathetic and highly skilled artist-tutor Emma Prentice, each session invites you to come as you are. You’ll be welcomed into a calm, inspirational setting, where there’s no pressure to speak or share unless you want to. Simply sit around the table, listen, chat if you feel like it, and take part in simple, engaging weekly creative activities designed to relax your mind and uplift your spirit.
Each week is different. Each activity is accessible and designed to inspire, whether you’re a complete beginner or have dabbled in art before. There are no exams, no final pieces, no judgement, just small, meaningful steps into creativity. Over time, you’ll not only build new artistic skills, but also a sense of freedom, confidence, and quiet belonging.
All materials are provided—just bring yourself.
How old do you need to be to join?
Ages 12 and upwards – perfect for homeschooled children, teens, adults, and older people alike. Age is not a limit to art, one of our students is close to 90!!
This is a truly intergenerational space—ideal for family members to attend together, or for individuals seeking community and connection.
It’s especially supportive for those experiencing anxiety, social isolation, neurodivergence, or mental health challenges.
Art Social is not about becoming an artist—it’s about becoming part of something.
Take time for yourself. Discover joy in small moments. Make gentle connections. Let creativity be your way back to yourself and others.
This is a unique course to Beth Morris Workshops that you won’t find anywhere else in Cardiff.
