Future Artists (Secondary)
Future Artists
Mondays 5:30-6:45
age 11-18 secondary
Starting Monday 15th September
12 week term with a break for half term
Taught by Scott Euden
In Future Artists, learners are invited to slow down, tune in, and explore the world around them through the lens of creativity. This class is as much about process as it is about making, offering a supportive and inclusive environment where curiosity leads the way. Whether you’re completely new to art or simply looking for a joyful, pressure-free space to reconnect with your creativity, you’ll find a welcoming group of like-minded people here. Through playful experimentation with a wide range of materials and techniques, we look at the natural world, art history, and the work of contemporary artists to inspire our own unique expressions. It’s a space where ideas flow freely, conversations are rich and wide-ranging, and imagination is celebrated in every form. Come exactly as you are—this is art-making with heart, soul, and plenty of laughter.
Examples for study are Surrealism (Dali) Impressionism (Monet) Abstract Expressionism (Pollock) etc but we will also introduce you to artists you’ve never heard of before and that’s where your creative experimental journey will really begin. Insole Court, nature and the space around us, is also a constant source of inspiration on this course.
Art should be fun, sometimes messy, but most of all enjoyed. You wont even notice that you are learning because the chat is constant and the tasks are engrossing. The results though, will speak for themselves. We often arrange mini exhibitions and informal showcases but all at the students pace.
The great thing about this course is it is very much art for pleasure. There are no exams, homework or assessments. It is a place where students come to enjoy creating without limitations or pressure. A thoroughly inclusive art school vibe!
The course will be run by Scott Euden. Local landscape artist and tutor, who has been a member of the team for seven years!
This is a unique course to Beth Morris Workshops that you won’t find anywhere else in Cardiff.
