Fashion Stories Adult

Tuesdays 12:30-2:00 (10 in each session)

Through various illustration techniques you will discover the beauty of the clothed figure and connect with fashion and textiles from many generations.

You will learn how to illustrate people, about body proportions and drawing from life as well as magazine images and photographs. Together we will explore fabrics and pattern with water-colour, collage, inks and stitch. Taught by Beth Morris author of ‘Fashion Illustrator’ published worldwide, you will use her input to create your own style.

All abilities welcome especially complete beginners! Your skills will build and improve over time. You will be shown how to use a huge variety of media and experiment with many artistic techniques to create interesting contemporary fashion illustrations. You will be inspired by fashion illustrators/artists, old and new, and Beth will never run out of creative ideas. Its a fun workshop with loads of scope to develop, while learning from your peers and making new friends. The chat is always flowing and a cuppa after or before in the coffee shop is encouraged!

Insole Court is the perfect location to explore people and the clothes they wear. This course will be based outdoors so please bring a warm coat. This summer (2021) will be focused on completing a fashion sketchbook.

All students will be given an octopus hard backed sketchbook to fill over the course of the term.
