Beth Morris Workshops Safety Guidelines

The tone of these safety regulations is not my usual style, however, we, at Beth Morris Workshops would like you to understand the importance of the precautions that will be provided for the students and tutors safety during the covid 19 pandemic.

UPDATED: 30th March 2022

Respect:

  • Please respect the guidelines issued. These have been made to protect all students and our community art school. As a business owner, I will abide by ALL government guidelines and will not bend the rules to make them suitable for independent views and opinions. The aim of Beth Morris Workshops will always be to provide a safe learning environment for all ages and abilities. Your safety and my business values should go hand in hand. However, if you feel uncomfortable by another’s actions during a workshop, please contact me for a chat immediately.

General Rules for virus safety:

  • My current risk assessment will state that groups of people will be able to meet indoors again for the Autumn term 2021 at Beth Morris Workshops. We will observe as much physical distancing as possible and keep the room fully ventilated. You are no longer required to wear a mask by law and it is up to the individual to make a choice if they would like to wear one.

  • The studio will not be accessed by anyone other than the tutor, and students.

  • Please do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes before the session is due to start. The tutors need to take breaks and get organised for their workshops.

  • The studio toilet may only be accessed by students during the workshops. Siblings and family members will need to use the toilets in the courtyard.

  • Adult students who smoke/vape will not be able to do this during a workshop. Please wait until the workshop has finished.

  • Hand washing will take place in the toilet one at a time and hand sanitiser will always be provided for students use.

  • Please be sensible with clothing. You will need to adapt to the weather conditions. This is your responsibility, rather than ours.

Belongings:

  • Adults may bring one small bag with their personal belongings, and the project they are working on. However, please leave whatever you can in your car or at home.

  • All art equipment will be provided by Beth Morris Workshops.

  • Children may not bring anything into the studio. No toys or snacks please.

Cleaning:

  • The tables and chairs, door handles and bathroom will all be cleaned in between workshops.

  • The workshops are now slightly shorter to allow for thorough cleaning and moving furniture. All workshops will now run to a stricter timetable so vital cleaning and organisation can take place.

  • In weekend guest workshops, any shared equipment such as sewing machines etc, will be wiped down after every use and the users will wash their hands.

  • Where rooms in the main house are used, the same cleaning regime will be applied.

PPE:

  • It is no longer a requirement of law to wear a face mask but please do so if you feel more comfortable.

  • Hand sanitiser will be provided.

  • Dettol will be provided in the studio toilet so you can spray before and after.

  • Only Beth Morris Workshop students will be permitted to use the studio toilet facilities.

  • If you or your child have any symptoms please do not attend the workshop.

  • If anyone in your household or extended bubble has symptoms please consider if you are high risk to others in the workshop.
