Flow & Form - a creative workshop in Alcohol Ink & Resin with Lois Seco
Sunday 14th June 2026
10:00-4:00
Adult workshop
(but GCSE and A-Level students are very welcome to join in. It will be a great skills workshop for those taking creative subjects)
WORKSHOP:
Flow & Form - a creative workshop in Alcohol Ink & Resin with Lois Seco
A mindful day of flow, colour and relaxation
Join artist Lois Seco for an immersive day exploring the beauty of alcohol ink and resin - two expressive mediums that celebrate colour, movement and emotion.
You’ll begin by discovering the fluidity and vibrancy of alcohol inks, learning how to guide rather than control them. Lois will show you how to experiment with colour, shape and form, developing your own abstract flow and exploring how art can make you feel as much as it makes you see.
From there, you’ll move into resin work, learning all the essentials for handling the medium safely and effectively. You’ll start by creating small resin ornaments, exploring the way light and depth interact within the material.
Later in the day, you’ll bring both mediums together to make a larger resin art piece infused with alcohol inks, blending transparency, texture and movement. The process encourages patience and play watching layers merge, shift and transform.
Throughout the day, we’ll flow between the two mediums, returning to your ink pieces to layer, edit and evolve, allowing each process to inspire the next. The focus is on mindfulness, creativity and connection, a space to slow down, experiment and follow where the colours lead.
This is a relaxed, expressive workshop for all levels - a chance to connect with colour, embrace the unexpected, and create something truly unique.
Artist / Maker / Tutor:
Lois Seco is a multidisciplinary abstract artist based in South Wales (Cardiff), whose work spans large-scale acrylic and resin paintings to smaller works on a variety of surfaces. She has exhibited internationally and her pieces have found homes in Australia, Brazil, Dubai and Canada as well as the UK.
Driven by a deep fascination with colour, texture and movement, Lois refuses to ‘niche down’ into one medium or practice. She believes that creativity is a gateway to deeper self-understanding and connection with the world.
Her recent body of work explores the interplay of light, form and abstraction, where shapes emerge, shift and recede, inviting the viewer to linger, reflect and feel. Lois also offers design support and runs creative workshops and a community called “Creative Kin”.
In her studio practice she treats each piece as a story: the materials, the rhythm of mark-making and the layered surfaces become an exploration of time, memory and emotional energy.
Lois’s workshops are warm, welcoming spaces to experiment, play and connect through colour and form perfect for anyone who wants to slow down and dive into abstract making.
What is included in the ticket price?
All equipment and materials that you need for the workshop are included - the price is slightly higher than other workshops as the materials are more costly - but you will go home with some beautiful handcrafted pieces and new skills.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day.
Where will the workshops take place?
In Beth’s inspirational studio at Insole Court, Cardiff. CF5 2LN
