Forever Festive Fairies

£80.00
sold out

Saturday 18th October 2025

10:00-4:00

Adult workshop

(but GCSE and A-Level students are very welcome to join in. It will be a great skills workshop for those taking art)

WORKSHOP:

The ultimate nostalgic workshop just in time for the festive season. Join Helen of Rosies Armoire for an enchanting workshop where you’ll craft your very own forever fairy from one of Helen’s original patterns.

Using soft, muted colour palettes, hand dyed organdie, and vintage lace, you’ll bring a delicate, timeless fairy to life—perfect as a unique gift for a loved one or to add a sprinkle of wonder to your holiday decor.

During this hands-on experience, you’ll have all materials provided but you are welcome to bring any special fabrics, lace trimmings, diamantés, vintage jewellery you’d like to incorporate. Guided by Helen, you will begin by painting your fairy’s face, skin tone and choosing her name. Throughout the day you’ll learn new techniques, add personalised touches, and, if you wish, use a vintage typewriter to create quotes or words for your fairy’s dress. Adding delicate embroidery to the French-inspired vintage Brocante linens and fabrics will result in a truly one-of-a-kind creation.

Some basic sewing skills are required for this workshop and tools are provided but please bring along your own sewing kit, threads and fabric scissors if you prefer.

This is a very personal workshop and the more details you wish to include, vintage fabrics, buttons, brooches, memorable clothing, even little stitched words, the more meaningful this little fairy will become. You will be going home with a unique forever fairy to gift or to hang on your Christmas tree.

Artist / maker / tutor:

Helen is a textile maker and creator based in Lancashire, England. She studied textiles at Glasgow School of Art and has subsequently exhibited as Rosie’s Armoire at the Country Living and Brocante fairs throughout the U.K.

Her creations are often French inspired through her love of visiting the Brocante for antique linens and vintage haberdashery. She sells a range of textile gifts, inspiration fabric packs through her website alongside handmade fairies and dolls, including her festive advent doll.

What is included in the ticket price?
Materials will be provided but please bring along any special bits of your own, fabric and lace etc to personalise your work, particularly small pieces suitable for the fairy’s clothing.

Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake! Will it be too early for mince pies?

Where will the workshops take place?

In Beth’s inspirational studio at Insole Court, Cardiff. CF5 2LN
