Age 7+ and adult

Taught by Beth Morris

WORKSHOP:

Spend a relaxing and creative hour celebrating Welsh heritage as part of Insole Court’s St David’s Day celebrations.

In this friendly, informal workshop, you’ll create rows of tiny Welsh terraced houses using simple watercolour, collage and mixed media. We’ll begin learning how to draw these familiar Welsh terraces step by step. You’ll then paint your scene with watercolours before embellishing your artwork with collage papers inspired by traditional Welsh blankets. You may even choose to add touches of woollen fabric to make your piece uniquely your own.

The session takes place amongst our artwork exhibited in the Carriage House Hall at Insole Court, meaning you’ll be creating right in the heart of the St David’s Day celebrations, surrounded by art, heritage and shared stories of place.

You’ll work around the table with Beth Morris, founder of Beth Morris Workshops, who will guide you through the process in a relaxed and supportive way. This cross-generational workshop is suitable for children aged 7+ and adults, making it perfect for families, friends, or anyone who’d like to come along and create together.

It’s also a lovely taster of what we do at Beth Morris Workshops, our community art school based on site, a chance to slow down, make art, and be part of a warm, creative community while celebrating St David’s Day.

Where will the workshop take place?

In the Carriage House hall, Insole Court (not at the studio)
