Painting Welsh Seascapes with Scott Euden

£80.00

27th July 2025

Sunday

10:00-4:00

Adult workshop

(but GCSE and A-Level students are very welcome to join in. It will be a great skills workshop for those taking art)

Workshop Description:

Join us for an exciting and energetic full-day workshop led by popular Beth Morris Workshop tutor and local artist Scott Euden. This immersive session will focus on capturing the drama and beauty of Welsh seascapes, with particular attention to how shifting weather and atmospheric conditions transform the coastline. You’ll explore the powerful interplay between sea and sky, learning how to harness that energy and mood in your own artwork.

The day will begin with a series of fun and dynamic warm-ups designed to loosen you up and get you comfortable working with a variety of media. In true Scott Euden style, you’ll break away from convention—ripping paper, running your paintings under the tap, splashing tea and coffee, and throwing ink to create unexpected and exciting textures. This is a workshop where experimentation is not just encouraged but celebrated, allowing you to explore your creativity freely.

Throughout the session, you’ll develop your own expressive seascapes, guided by Scott’s expert tuition and infectious enthusiasm. We’ll provide plenty of reference images to inspire you, but if you have your own favourite seascapes or coastal scenes, feel free to bring them along to personalise your work. Whether you’re new to painting or looking to loosen up your style, this workshop offers the perfect opportunity to play, explore, and leave with a collection of bold, atmospheric pieces that capture the wild spirit of the Welsh coast.

Artist / Maker / Tutor:

Scott Euden is a Welsh artist focused on Landscape/Seascape painting and recreating the sublime beauty of the natural landscape. A dynamic approach to diverse subject matter, intuitive mark-making and an unconventional interpretation in acrylics from observation, experience and memory.

Scott creates compelling images of the ‘natural’ landscape in Wales and works toward private commissions and public exhibitions. He is also a very popular art tutor and runs two weekly art sessions at Beth Morris Workshops. Scott’s ‘Future Artist’ class for teens and his adult ‘Landscape Painting’ class is always full. So, if you were hoping to join one of those, but not been lucky so far, this is your chance to do a full days workshop with the man himself.

What is included in the ticket price?

All art supplies but you are welcome to bring your own along too if you prefer.

Tea, coffee and biscuits

Where will the workshops take place?

In Beth’s studio at Insole Court, Cardiff.

Please read the T’s and C’s
