You and Your Sketchbook with Scott Euden
17th August 2025
Sunday
10:00-4:00
Adult workshop
(but GCSE and A-Level students are very welcome to join in. It will be a great skills workshop for those taking art)
Workshop Description:
Spend a full day immersed in creativity with this inspiring workshop led by popular Beth Morris Workshop tutor Scott Euden. Set within the beautiful grounds and studio at Insole Court, this workshop is all about you, your surroundings, and the simple joy of filling the pages of your own sketchbook—which will be provided for you on the day.
You’ll explore both nature and the urban environment, learning how to observe closely and translate what you see directly onto paper. Throughout the day, Scott will guide you through a range of mark-making techniques using pencils, inks, charcoals, and other materials, encouraging you to experiment and enjoy the tactile process of drawing. You’ll practice working from life, training your eyes to really see and capturing everything from sweeping landscapes to tiny details—immersing yourself in the peaceful and rewarding experience of sketching what’s in front of you.
As well as plenty of practical drawing time, Scott will share his tips and techniques for preparing pages, working on different backgrounds, and using varied materials to add depth and character to your sketches. By the end of the workshop, you’ll not only have filled your sketchbook with unique and personal drawings, but you’ll also be equipped with the confidence and tools to continue developing your sketching practice long after the session is over. Perfect for anyone looking to slow down, reconnect with their surroundings, and find creative freedom in the simple act of looking and drawing.
Artist / Maker / Tutor:
Scott Euden is a Welsh artist focused on Landscape/Seascape painting and recreating the sublime beauty of the natural landscape. A dynamic approach to diverse subject matter, intuitive mark-making and an unconventional interpretation in acrylics from observation, experience and memory.
Scott creates compelling images of the ‘natural’ landscape in Wales and works toward private commissions and public exhibitions. He is also a very popular art tutor and runs two weekly art sessions at Beth Morris Workshops. Scott’s ‘Future Artist’ class for teens and his adult ‘Landscape Painting’ class is always full. So, if you were hoping to join one of those, but not been lucky so far, this is your chance to do a full days workshop with the man himself.

Tea, coffee and biscuits
