Sketch Book Club Secondary
Mondays 5:30-6:45 age11-16 secondary (10 in each session)
This sketchbook club for young people of secondary school age is unique in the fact that it does not follow a curriculum. But, enhances the students experience alongside their school work without even realising it. You will be shown techniques and how to use materials creatively to improve on your artistic knowledge. Imagine it like a mini art foundation course where you learn and are inspired by your tutor and your peers. The great thing about this course is it is very much art for pleasure. There are no exams, homework or assessments. It is a place where students come to enjoy creating without limitations or pressure.
These sessions are taught by Scott Euden. The students will get a fantastic experience learning from a practising landscape artist. All of the workshops will take place outdoors so be prepared for adventure and a unique approach to learning. Your creative limits will be pushed and you will discover art that you didn’t know you had inside. Can’t wait to see those sketchbooks bursting with artistic experimentation!
Insole Court is the perfect location to explore landscapes and the urban environment. Weather and light dependent this course will be based outdoors (in the grounds and surrounding areas of Insole Court, Llandaff) so please bring a warm coat. This summer (2021) will be focused on the direct study of nature, utilising sketchbook study and a myriad of media and techniques. We will be focusing each session on developing the vital artistic skill of ‘En Plein Air’.
All students will be given an octopus hard backed sketchbook to fill over the course of the term.
Before booking a spot please read our COVID safety guidelines here.
