I probably had the least drawing/painting experience of the group and was still grappling with reproducing reality.  Beth challenged me to push myself out of my comfort zone and be much more artsy and to think like an illustrator.  This could be frustrating at times, but was really rewarding.  I loved the variety of the course and was inspired by the illustrators Beth introduced us to. I'd definitely sign up for another course with Beth - she is fun, positive, encouraging and inspiring

My daughter really enjoyed the weekly sewing class and made some brilliant pieces. She learnt real skills in a creative & supportive environment. She's looking forward to more classes during the holidays.

I’m a Graphic Designer and Illustrator with over 20 years experience, but I never had any confidence in my illustrations of people. Life drawing didn’t appeal to me so when I found out about Beth’s Fashion Illustration course I was inspired to get involved.

Beth guided me through body proportions and a broad range of illustrative techniques. Her extensive knowledge on the subject and fun atmosphere in her classes made it a pleasure to turn up week after week to produce work.

My illustrations improved dramatically under her guidance.

For several years ‘Beth Morris Workshops’ has been a cornerstone of Insole Court’s creative programme. The quality and diversity of classes, activities and events that Beth hosts have been an asset to the charity's aim of establishing Insole Court at the heart of Cardiff’s cultural community. She has successfully woven Insole’s rich history, Victorian design and natural beauty into her body of work and we are proud of the symbiotic relationship Beth and the Insole Court Trust has established.

The support that Beth Morris Workshops is giving the community and people who genuinely need care, engagement and encouragement is incredible. To do this with creativity and art is vital. I am so proud to be directly involved with Beth Morris Workshops and owe her a debt of gratitude. I am personally developing my own artistic endeavours as a result of my involvement. I know it is phenomenally hard work, exhausting and takes up all of her valuable time, but she has created something quite wonderful. It is outstanding to have this in the community. To give people this vital opportunity to express themselves and build self belief, confidence, social inclusion and interaction through Art. Bravo.

Beth was born to do artistic work, share her ideas and motivate others to be their best creative selves!

Silver Sketchers, a weekly art group run by Beth Morris is simply inspirational. I was fortunate to spend a day with the group and interview some of the participants for a short film on The One Show. I was blown away with the stories of how the art group and the meaningful creative activities that they take part in every week has helped them to develop skills, self belief and a strong sense of community. Beth works out of a divine spirit of love, putting her whole heart into planning and delivering activities to people who have been through brain surgery and the trauma that goes along with that. But when you meet this group, you never see a sense of pity or low self esteem, but a group of people who have used this great avenue to re-invent their creative skills and channel their talents in the right direction. Beth is getting them to create Art that heals the Heart.

I met Beth and Beth Morris Workshops through a fundraising art exhibition that I curate called 'A Letter in Mind' which raises funds for The National Brain Appeal, the charity that supports The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London. The artworks that are produced by these artists are incredibly vibrant and personal and Beth works so hard to create a memorable experience for those in her groups.  I look forward to meeting the artists again for the third year and to their wonderful entries for A Letter in Mind 2020'.

I have been taking my toddler twins to Beth's Friday morning class now for a few weeks. They started a bit nervous and clingy and I wasn't sure if they were too young (2 1/2) but Beth facilitates a relaxed, structured session, which is totally appropriate for them and they now both love it. I really enjoy making things with them, getting messy and keeping the glitter, glue and paints out of my kitchen! A fantastic class.

She is patient and I feel truly inspired.

I have learnt new skills..in short, Beth’s fab!!

The National Brain Appeal: A Letter in Mind

In September 2019, I entered the brain injury art groups into The National Brain Appeals auction at The Oxo Tower in London for the second time. We entered almost 40 pieces of art work, raising nearly £2000 for the charity. It was amazing to see Beth Morris Workshops art popping out of the ‘Diff and on to The Southbank and the students exhibiting alongside Tracy Emin!

BBC The One Show

Probably the best way of seeing how Beth Morris Workshops benefits the local community is to take a look at the short film (4 minutes) that featured on BBC’s The One Show. You can view it on the homepage. The film features the Silver Sketchers in a workshop at Insole Court. Two of the brain injury survivors are interviewed about the benefits of art and the community that they have joined. It is a wonderful heart warming film where the interviewer Adebanji Alade (link his name to his website www.theaddictivesketcher)
