Taylor Swift Fashion Design with Miss Magpie Fashion Spy 10+ adults May Half Term

This workshop caters for tweens, teens and adults. It’s also an opportunity for inter-generational family members to attend together if they are both fans! It’s in the half term break for school age. But if you are a little older, book the day off work and come with your bestie. This is a unique workshop just for Beth Morris Workshops.
WORKSHOP:
This is surely the most fun workshop ever, designing clothes for Taylor Swift! We will spend some time learning the basics of fashion design (colour palette, theme, fabric and silhouette), key drawing techniques with pen and marker, and will soon move on to designing some amazing outfits. A slogan T-shirt, an incredible dazzling shimmering showstopper, a casual outfit for Taylor’s day off, an outfit for your favourite song…..and more. You can illustrate any Era of your choice. You’ll have templates of Taylor to draw from and we’ll have her music on the whole day.
Artist / Maker / Tutor:
Niki Groom (AKA Miss Magpie Fashion Spy on Instagram) is an illustrator based in Bristol. Her colourful work features in advertising, social media and editorial for brands such as Clinique, Cartier, M&S and Caroline Herrera. Prior to turning to illustration full time, Niki was a fashion designer and worked with various brands on the UK High Street for almost 20 years. She has extensive experience of working with factories in India and lots of knowledge around print, embroidery and dyeing.
Niki is passionate about drawing, and sketches from life to constantly improve her skills. She loves to draw people, buildings and scenes and often creates reportage art. Last year her illustration of the Sarah Everard vigil ended up on billboards all over the UK after a crowdfunding campaign. She’s now a full time illustrator and creates artwork for advertising, packaging and social media.

What is included in the ticket price?
All equipment and materials that you need for the workshop are included. Some people like to bring extra bits and pieces but the studio is packed with all sorts of inspirational art materials that you may access.
Do I have to adhere to the age guidelines when booking?
Yes please. I have years of teaching experience and I am the Mum of three, so I set the age limits for a reason. The tasks are age appropriate and the children / young people and adults should all feel comfortable with their peers.
My young person has additional learning needs - Is the workshop suitable?
We can not offer 1:1 support unfortunately, but if they can work semi-independently with their peers, they will love our fun inclusive and relaxed workshops. The tutor will make sure they understand the tasks and support them within the session. We also sometimes have teaching assistants who can support them.
